i understand the theory of exhausting all efforts towrds the K20 but why not try out the FG1's first off?
sad to hear its over 1 year away, and the fact of the matter is if you had brought out a s/c kit sooner you'd be the only market out there!

We'll just have to see when the time comes. I'm not ruling it out, but I own a 2007 Honda Accord V6 that we purchased with intention to use it for development. But we'll see. I know there are people out there interested in a supercharger, but the market is much smaller than for the K20. If you wanted power, wouldn't most R18 people buy a K20 car to start??? That's my thinking on why it should wait...... it's ALOT of money to develop a complete system like that for what would be basically a single application when we have the V6 that is applied over a range of vehicles.
Anyway, we'll see...... K20 first.

you already made a supercharger for the 06 Si's
y not get the other 06 civic models outa the way, like the R18A1 models.
and why would you go with the v6 cars now. There is alot more demand out there it seems for the 06 Non-Si civic. |

that was my innitial thoughts sometime ago....
Although the Si is the one with most aftermarket support, it now has it all, so why not give the R18A1 a chance here. Then for a v6 model?
you stated to me "why not have just gotten an Si in the first place"
well....same back at ya? "Why not just boost a v8 and not a v6 in the first place?"

We have enough work to do on the K20 that we really can't afford to spend time doing anything else at this point. And the K-series is in many cars, so once we have the manifold done, then the issue of providing kits for different applications becomes our focus. So, to do work on the R18 before we've really begun the K20 car applications would leave a TON of people waiting even longer than they have already. We'll get to the R18 I hope eventually, but for now, it's just not a priority.
Thanks for your continued interest.

I don't see it taking us that long to get the R18 done. Have faith....we should have something before too long. But it won't be done this coming summer unless I grow a big "S" on my chest.

Ok, so lets say it is a 1.5-2 yr wait for the S/C kit for a R18A1....
My next question is fuel management, What would you be using to tune the FG1 civic with this kit?
I have my finger crossed that one day hopefully us poor SOHC guys see a performance boost!
thanks again. |

I have no idea on engine management. I haven't even started to look into that.

ok...fair enough!
but when or how do we know when you guys ever plan on this project?
or do i wait for a length of time only to find out you never went through with it?
cuz im left in a boat where im about to sell this civic off or trade it for something maybe older that has turbo or s/c on it already.

It's impossible for me to gauge when we'll do that development, if ever. I wouldn't wait for us. It's going to be 2009 at the earliest.

We are a long way off from doing the R18 still. We have our hands full trying to get the K20 to market now.
